Production Process

Worked with Co Prop Master to prepare a budget for the show, alter beds, and sew curtains. The show was a deconstructed opera, which in this case meant most of the props were found objects and performed multiple functions.

Special Highlights:

Curtains & Door

As two of the largest visual elements, these were a central focus of source and budgeting. As the Scene Shop was building the doors, and valances, coordinating with them was key. We split both projects.  I took the lead on the curtain pleats and Sidney led the pattern matching and sewing the panels. We each completed a door.

Rolling Beds

The rolling beds became a central focus of the action on stage, and were used as dance partners, landing pads, and boats throughout the play. As they were store-bought they required significant alteration, while still keeping their overall look. The wheels were replaced and we sewed in webbing to support the springs and frame.
